Welcome to Heathfield High School.
Heathfield High School is committed to excellence. This commitment challenges us to provide both quality and diversity in the programs we provide.
Heathfield High School has a strong and cherished sense of tradition, and we have a genuine pride in the achievements of our past and present students.
Our school’s purpose is to develop the intellectual and creative capabilities of our students in an environment that is safe, friendly and supportive of student learning. The students at Heathfield High School are undoubtedly our finest resource, and their sense of school pride and school community is clearly evident to all who visit the school.
We have an enviable record of academic achievement and tertiary success. Our Year 12 results over past years have been outstanding, and they are consistently above the state average. Heathfield High School graduates confidently the tertiary course they have applied for, either at University or TAFE.
We value individual pathways for each and every student at this school. Our dedicated and professional staff work with students to explore flexible and multiple pathways that will best support them in achieving their personal best for their individually determined futures.
Over the past few years Heathfield High School has established a dynamic, richly resourced and sustainable program for the delivery of VET (Vocational Education Training), which has seen growth from one student completing a Certificate Course in 2001, to 58 in 2002, 84 in 2003 and 125 in 2004.
The school is proud of its vibrant visual and performing arts program that showcases student talent. Students in our Active8 program integrate the arts and the community as they take full responsibility for the development and presentation of a full-scale production.
Heathfield High School has a “Special Interest Sports Program” offering Volleyball in Years 8 –11. The program provides an enhanced opportunity for the pursuit of sporting excellence within a school environment encouraging educational excellence. Many students have graduated from the Volleyball program to go on to play at National and International level.
The school’s international program features overseas tours to Asia and Europe, along with short term visits from schools in Japan and Taiwan. Our school community is exceptionally welcoming of students from overseas, and many families enjoy the ongoing opportunities to host these students in their homes.
The future directions of Heathfield High School are exciting and challenging, and the support of the school community is invaluable as the school moves confidently forward into the 21st century.
