The role of the Student Representative Council (SRC) at Heathfield High School is one of advocacy, representing the student body at various levels, both within and outside the school community.
The SRC is an active member of the Governing Council, and holds important positions on many decision-making committees. The SRC consists of an executive of sixteen senior students. This executive in turn administers a forum for each year level, allowing each student to be represented through home-group members.
Each year level has a particular project as its focus. Fundraising activities occur throughout the year to support the chosen project. Currently the year levels support the following -
- Year 8 – School-based project
- Year 9 – Community project
- Year 10 - International projects such as Oxfam or World Vision
- Year 11 – Personal Development
The Year 12 cohort is represented by a Management Committee that takes care of the day-to-day Year 12 issues, and organises major events such as the Formal.
The SRC supports students through other projects such as leadership conferences, and encourages all students to be heard and make a difference.
