Special Interest Volleyball Program

Heathfield High School is a special interest volleyball school, formed in 1988 as part of a State Government programme allowing students to aim for excellence in both sport and academic areas. Heathfield was the first special interest school in the state. The programme has been an outstanding success, with Heathfield High School being acknowledged as the premier and the most successful Special Interest Sports school in the country. The school has produced a record 24 National volleyball players.

Heathfield High School has dominated national, school and junior volleyball in the country. The school is privileged to be the only Special Interest sports school in Australia to win a coveted Prime Minister's 'Excellence in Sports' award. The volleyball programme has also received an achievement award for services to the National Volleyball programme, an SA Great Award for sport, and the Australian Volleyball Federation 'Coach of the Year' award. Heathfield has also won the title of 'Champion School' at the National Schools Cup eleven times in twelve years, and has now won forty nine National titles - more than triple the number of any other school in the country.
