Year 10: 1 Semester / Responsible Living

Pre-Requisite: A written application must be submitted during the enrolment process. A letter from a club or successful completion of Year 9 Responsible Living with a recommendation from your year 9 responsible living teacher must be provided to your course advisor on subject selection day. A skill based test might be required

SUBJECT OVERVIEW

Students engage in a range of activities and skills with an aim of being able to play football at a high level. This includes developing their skills and game play, whilst also analysing the same. This will be balanced with theory work of exercise physiology and biomechanics that will assist students to transition to stage 1 PE subject.

  • rules of the game and umpiring

ASSESSMENT

Evidence of learning

A variety of tasks allow students to develop knowledge, skills and understanding through

  • teamwork and collaboration - through game play and simulation drills
  • innovation and creativity - working as a team to develop set plays and structures
  • critical thinking and problem solving
  • effective oral and written communication – working as a team, presenting research findings to the class
  • knowledge and understanding – reflection on your own football experiences through a journal

Additional Information

Cost: $40 for a reversible training guernsey – subject to change in 2020

Students must supply their own football boots and mouthguard
