SUBJECT OVERVIEW

Year 8 Drama students will be introduced to theatre arts. Students will participate in group work exploring basic acting applying body language and vocal skills. Students will communicate with expression to create meaning to an audience. Students will build trust with each other using social skills working in collaborative practice. Planning and rehearsing scripted and devised roles students that will build confidence, as students interact with others in a safe environment.

Students are assessed against the Drama Australian Curriculum achievement standards:

  • folio documenting planning and ideas
  • scripts
  • performance
  • analysis of performance
  • reflection and evaluation of own and other practitioners
