SUBJECT OVERVIEW

Students will extend their understanding of dramatic concepts such as character, relationships, subtext and situation while performing for purpose and for audiences. They will also explore social, cultural and historical contexts including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.  They will apply this knowledge and understanding to the topics explored.  Students will have opportunity explore the various technical and design roles in the theatre arts. They will be supported to create, collaborate and problem solve prompting confidence. By viewing, analysing and evaluating performances of others as well as their own, students will understand the intentions of drama as an art form.

ASSESSMENT

Students are assessed against the Drama Australian Curriculum achievement standards:

  • elements of drama
  • contribution to performance
  • analysis
  • interpretation and evaluation of drama

Additional Information

Costs: $45.00 for performance admissions 

Fees may change prior to January 2024 when invoices are sent.

It is compulsory for drama students to participate in all class performances, including outside of regular school hours performance. Dates will be given well in advance.
