The study of Japanese at year 10 builds upon prior learning of Japanese and continues to consolidate learning and develop student’s ability to communicate effectively in the target language. Knowledge and understanding of Australia’s and their own place in the world enables students to apply language skills in a more authentic manner. Students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they independently create and comprehend written and spoken texts that become increasingly more difficult.
This is likely to be a joint class with the year 11 students, all beginning their SACE.
Topics may include
the changing world
the japanese speaking communities
Students are assessed against the Japanese SACE assessment requirements; ideas, expression, interpretation and reflection across four assessment tasks (interaction, text production, text analysis and investigation).
