SUBJECT OVERVIEW

This course offers students the opportunity to continue working in the design and technology field with a focused approach on developing skills in 2D modelling, 3D modelling and coding. The topics covered in this course can help refine designing and modelling skills needed at Year 11.

Topics may include
• engineering design process
• graphic design
• 3D modelling (Fusion 360)
• 2D modelling
• computer aided machining
• coding development (for app's and other digital systems)

ASSESSMENT

Students are assessed through formative and summative assessments in the form of Design Folio's and individual assessment tasks that cover the Design & Technology Australian curriculum achievement standards within the following content descriptors.

  • Knowledge and understanding - Materials and technologies specialisations
  • Processes and production skills including the following:

    • investigating and defining
    • generating and designing
    • producing and implementing
    • evaluating
    • collaborating and managing
