11 Japanese Continuers

SUBJECT OVERVIEW

The study of Japanese at year 11 builds upon prior learning of Japanese and continues to consolidate learning and develop student’s ability to communicate effectively in the target language. Knowledge and understanding of Australia’s and their own place in the world enables students to apply language skills in a more authentic manner. Students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills as they independently create and comprehend written and spoken texts that become increasingly more difficult.

This may be a joint class with the year 10 students.

• the individual
• the Japanese speaking communities
